Calc: semi random dates not recognized [closed]

Some dates in column A are not being recognized as such. I extended a series of dates by dragging the selection handle and find that some are displayed as three hash marks (###) instead of a formatted date. There seems to be a pattern, but it is not consistent (notice October not listed below). The following dates become hashes anywhere they are entered in column A: 9/5/2012, 9/12/2012, 9/19/2012, 11/7/2012, 11/14/2012, 11/21/2012, 11/28/2012, 12/12/2012, 12/19/2012, 12/26/2012... Perhaps this is a bug? Thanks for any suggestions.

The hash marks indicate that the cell is not wide enough to display the contents.

Is your date format like "September 19, 2012"? I can reproduce your problem with that date format if the cell format is set that way and the cell width is just wide enough to display the October dates.

Fix: 1) Widen the cells 2) choose a different date format 3) choose a smaller font, or some combination of these.

Thank you, I should have known that! (Feeling kind of stupid now...) :)
