In order to convert doc file to html format, I use jodconverter (http://code.google.com/p/jodconverter/) , which requires the LibreOffice service.

So it is better to start LibreOffice as background service, but how can I configure LibreOffice?

Thanks a lot in advance!

That same site has examples and the java application is supposed to start LibreOffice on demand. What did you try and what specific errors are you getting ?

Have you tried the LibreOffice --convert-to option? e.g.

libreoffice --invisible --convert-to html FileName.doc
