I just upgrade LibreOffice to, via adding Libreoffice ppa. However, my LibreOffice didn't look the same with those reviews I've seen on Youtube. image description

You see the picture. The right of the window should have a column of icons, but I got blank cubic.

image description Look at those 3 I marked in a square box. Shouldn't they be just icons?

I agree that you have some icons missing. I can possibly get some of the functionality back...

Your first screen-shot shows a little arrow at the far-right in the middle. That is intended to open/close the sidebar. Try another way:-

  1. go (menu):ViewSidebar
  2. If it has a tick(✔) then click on it to remove it, or to add it
  3. Click on it again

During one of the last 2 the sidebar should appear.

I've no idea why the icons are missing. It suggests either a permissions issue (most likely) or possibly Profile corruption. The latter is easy to fix: Reset the user profile. The former means re-install, but fix the permissions issue first.

If this helps then please tick the answer (✔)

Try install libreoffice-style-galaxy. It seems to have worked for me. If not try install libreoffice-style-breeze.
