Bullet symbol disappears automatically in Impress

A ppt file was created by MS powerpoint and a certain slide has the bullet list. When I open it from LO impress and try to paste a word into one of the bulleted list, then the bullet symbol disappears automatically.

Well, I have had the same problem in bullets disappearing when pasting, so I found that if I type a character in first and then paste the bullet stays. Then I just delete the one character.
