Word / Character count in LO5

Hi. The word and character count in the task bar doesn’t work properly in Writer. When I open a document it counts approx. 1/10 of the words/characters and then stops, adds then approx. 5,000 after a keystroke until it reaches the correct amount. The correct amount is only displayed after clicking Tools/Word count. This doesn’t apply to small documents. My document has approx. 140,000 words and just over 1,000,000 characters.

For me LO5 word count is broken too. It only counts selected text. The total counts always show 0 words.

Hi Huskey

LO-5 is from LibreOffice Fresh & as such may be buggy. You need to get used to using Bugzilla (or the Bug Assistant).

The alternative is to use LibreOffice Still (more stable, less exciting).
