Custom install options ignored on Windows 7

Hi. I’ve experienced several times now that options I choose in the installer for LibreOffice versions – with some 4 versions and now with 5.0.0.5 – are not being honoured. Foremost, in the first step after choosing “Custom” I change the install path from C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 5\ by taking out the version number (but not the trailing backslash). Since I am never going to be running multiple versions of LibreOffice alongside each other, I see no sense in keeping the version number in the program path. Also, I deselect the option to create a start link on desktop in the last step. The installer seems to accept both these changes quite happily, which is most visible in the behaviour I see when I unselect and reselect individual components in the installer. As soon as I choose to include a component in the installation, the changed installation path reappears under the options panel (while a component is not selected the message under the panel says “Install to:” with no path, which makes sense). Anyway, the installer happily installs under “LibreOffice 5” and creates a start link on desktop. I’m not entirely sure how to check about my choices to include or exclude individual components so I’m not sure whether they are also ignored. The operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise, US English.

Before I tried this today, I also installed LibreOffice 5 on a German Windows XP machine (don’t ask). Here my choices were honoured.

Any ideas what I can do?

Hi sebalis

LO-5 is from LibreOffice Fresh & as such may be buggy. You need to get used to using Bugzilla (or the Bug Assistant).

The alternative is to use LibreOffice Still (more stable, thus less exciting).
