Using a MacBook Pro (Mid 2010), running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 Using LibreOffice 5.0.0 In Calc, after enabling "Regular Expressions", calc values work fine, BUT after saving file and coming back into it I have to go in a re-enable Regular Expressions. Previous version had this problem several times after a new release, then a fix came out and fixed the problem so that after enabling Regular Expressions they stayed set.

In LibreOffice 5.0.0, How can I get Regular Expressions in Calc to stay set?

I cannot reproduce your problem. I use LibreOffice on Windows 7. Do you have enabled "Load user-specific settings with the document" in Tools > Options > Load/Save > General ?

I think the issue is that you are not using the native ods format but an excel format. With that file format regular expressions are deactivated by default, perhaps because excel's wildcards are different than the regular expressions used by LibreOffice.
