How do I permanently remove editing changes so they don't reappear?

I cleared the changes/tracking off a document by un-ticking the ‘record’ and ‘show’ functions in the edit/changes menu and saved the clean document ready for a further round of editing. However, when I turned on ‘record’ and ‘show’ changes again, all the old editing mess reappeared - which is precisely what I don’t want. I need a clean version on which to track NEW edits. What do I do?

You need to accept or reject the changes. I newer LibreOffice version it is no longer in menu item “Accept or Reject” but in “Manage Changes”.
