Can you batch change documents' font and font size?

I have 40 odt files, is there a way to format their text to one font and one size, without manually opening each doc?

It’s 40 recipes I’ve tried and written cooking notes about, and I haven’t been consistent about conventions…like - deciding that each recipe title is size 15, the source of the recipe be it a book or a site is in size 11 and grey, right under the title…bla bla…

So I’d like to make the documents equal as possible and go from there.

Hi arled1

It depends entirely on your Style choices.

If you examine (say) a Paragraph style:

  • F11→(right-click a not-Default style)→ModifyOrganiser

… you will see a “Inherit from” option. If that option has been used throughout your Style options to create a tree of linked Styles, and if the Font is set only within the base of that tree, then you can change the Font just once within that base Style & change it throughout all the docs.

AFAIK you will have to do that for ALL your docs, as I understand that the styles are stored within the docs rather than only within the computer system. However, once you have one document setup the way that you want it, it is then possible to Import your Styles from a Document.

If this helps then please tick the answer (:heavy_check_mark:)
