Is there a facility for reading and editing pdf documents in Libre Office. If not is there a recommended open source option?

Hi, In addition to previous answers ...

  1. LibreOffice opens "standard" pdf in the Draw module but not exactly as an image. In the case of a PDF containing text, each paragraph is a text box.
  2. LibreOffice can create, open and edit Hybrid PDF document, in Writer Calc... as described in this FAQ.

Hi gbradfields

LO/OO opens PDFs as an image in Draw. That is fine for reading, but mighty useless for editing.

@peterwt has recommended Nitro PDF Professional for use under Windows (I have zero experience with it).

Nitro PDF Professional is free and can create and edit PDF's. Also provides a PDF printer so you can print from any application to a PDF.
