Hi lloyde12000

The following seems relatively uncomplicated. (Be warned!: absence of yellow ink means that I cannot fully currently test this) (not even in b/w) (printers, huh?).

A combination of the following 3 items will give you text that you can view/not view on screen, but will not print out:

  1. Hide text
    (menu):FormatCharacter...Font Effects (tab)→Hidden (☑)
  2. Allow show/hide Hidden text
    (menu):ToolsOptions...LibreOffice Writer (tab)→Formatting AidsHidden Text (☑)
  3. Show or hide the Hidden text
    (menu):ViewNon-printing Characters (Ctrl-F10)

Notes:

  1. Hiding Text
A similar dialog can also be used within a Style.

  2. The next item is ineffective unless this Option value is selected.

  3. This is a boolean on/off. When completely hidden it simply disappears from the page. That includes newlines, so the formatting will change. When shown it still will not print.

If this helps then please tick the answer (✔)
...and/or show you like it with an uptick ()

Hi

1) The best is of course if the document was designed and written taking into account this need. Paragraph styles: Sidebar or menu FormatStyle & FormattingFont Effects tab, have a Hidden property.

If the texts not to be printed are formatted by the same style, just check this property so that they are all hidden. Then, when printing by FilePrint, LibreOffice Writer tab▸Contents , verify that Hidden text is unchecked.

2) If the document was not designed this way a rapid technique is the insertion of sections.

Select the text part to hide then menu InsertSection, Section tab▸check Hide

This technique allows you to quickly hide a variety of texts, whatever their style or font.

Regards
