I am evaluating LO in a parallel installation. Found 3 things I don't like.

1) The option to save the document when saving recovery information is no longer available. Why not? It was an "OPTION". If the developers didn't like it, they didn't have to use it but why take that option away from everyone?

2) When LO saves the recovery information, the focus goes back to the cursor location rather than where I was in the document. This behavior did not exist in the 4. family. Why is this important? Someone sends me a 5 page document to read. When I open the document, the cursor is located at the beginning. As I read the document using the mouse wheel to scroll down, the location of the cursor does not move. So now I am reading on page 4 when the time for saving the AutoRecovery information happens. Now LO Writer moves me all the way back at the beginning of the document where I stupidly left the cursor. This movement will happen unless I click on the left mouse button every time I scroll down the document. Not efficient or useful. And as I said, this did not happen in or earlier.

3) When pasting text from the web or another document, after the paste, the focus is somewhere(?) in the body of the text not at the end where the cursor should be! Again not a behavior seen in earlier versions and this interferes with my work flow.

"this did not happen in or earlier" : it has happened with each 4.x + 5.x version that I have used since first downloading LO this year. I also agree you - that specific feature with the cursor is a bad decision by the LO devs; unnecessary & damn annoying.
