In Ubuntu Linux, instead of a file path I pasted another document as “Insert Session”, which is offered by default.

If the link was created by Insert▸Section▸Link, you can remove by Format▸Section▸select the section▸click Remove.
The linked document will be embedded.
If you want to delete the link and content, a “trick” is to rename the linked document before you open the document containing the linked section. The content will not be found, remove the section…
