I am using the latest version of LibreOffice [5.0.4.2] on Windows 10. I can copy and paste between documents ok. I can also copy information from third party software/documents such as a web browser into LibreOffice writer document - but only if that information is the first and only thing that goes into clipboard. Once I copy from a Writer document then any subsequent copy from a third party document/software will not paste (even using paste special options) - it keeps pasting the former information from LibreOffice documents. I have to close down all LibreOffice docs and re-open them to clear the clipboard so I can copy and paste from a third party doc/software.

Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Tried going through the help and wiki sites but could not find anything specific to this issue!

Please note that I do not have this problem running LibreOffice on a Ubuntu laptop.

I have the same problem in 5.0.5.2 running 64-bit or 32-bit version with Windows 10. Very frustrating. Hope someone has a solution.

I've had the same problem for the last several releases of LibreOffice using Windows 10 64-bit. The fix that worked for me was to select an empty space or line within Writer, and copy and paste it in the document. This seems to clear Writer's clipboard memory.

Still an issue, with 6.0.5.2 on Win 10. The workaround with copying empty spaces does the trick, though.

Got the exact same problem with v 5.1.0.3x64 on Windows 8. It works between documents but not when I copy to an external app such as Notepad. It is a very frustrating issue indeed.

1) I tried removing my user profile as explained here https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/U...

2) I've disabled my Anti Virus program

3) I've uninstalled all instances of Java that I could find.

Still no luck :(

This old Windows platform issue is difficult to reproduce. A lot of possible causes and tests have been examined in bug tdf#62196. I would encourage all those experiencing this issue to carefully read through that report and see if they can add anything constructive i.e., not just another "me too" type comment.

Windows 10 (64-bit), LibreOffice 5.2.2.2, same problem. Extremely annoying. Hopefully there's some fix. I could even run some script or execute LO macro if just could use the clipboard without needing to shut down every single instance of LibreOffice programs, just the get copypaste working..

i am experiencing some strange behavior with copy and paste. i am using Libre Office 5.1.6.2, with Linux Mint. On Document A I can do a CTL -A , CTL -C; followed by a CTL -A, CTL -V, on document B; to create a mirror document. The problem lies with copying and pasting individual words; or groups of words. I used to SIMPLY double-left-click; highlight; and then copy a word in document A; followed by double-left-clicking; and highlighting the target word in document B; followed by a paste command. NOW if I double-left-click the word BIG in document A; and then do a CTL -C; followed by double-left-clicking the word SMALL in document B; followed by a CTL -V; the word SMALL quickly disappears, and then reappears. An ordinary copy and paste will work if I double-left-click; highlight; and then copy a word in document A; followed by positioning the cursor before the target word, in Document B; with a SINGLE left click; being careful not to highlight it with the click; and then do a paste command; followed by a deletion of the old word. A WORK-AROUND I found for copy, cut, and paste is to position the cursor before BIG, in Document A; with a SINGLE left click; being careful not to highlight it with the click; and while HOLDING the left button down, highlight the word BIG. I then did a CTL -C. Then I positioned the cursor before the word SMALL, in Document B; with a SINGLE left click; being careful not to highlight it with the click; and while HOLDING the left button down, highlighted the word SMALL. I then did a CTL -V. The word SMALL changed to the word BIG. After extensive Google searches, I believe that this has something to do with what had control of the clipboard last. Before all of this strange behavior, I could cut a section of words; do a CTL -f to find the new insertion point; and then do a paste. NOW, if I do a cut; and a CTL -F; I lose what was in the cut; and paste only what I searched for with CTL -f. Different results occur after highlighting an entire document with CTL -A; and highlighting a word, or group of words, with a double-click.

I had the same issue and solved it by using the "Execute as Administrator" option.
