Writer will not load files

I have a Windows 7 x64 PC with LibreOffice 5.1.0.3. When attempting to load any file (.doc, .odt), the file appears to load, but there are no characters or words loaded. I see a double scrollbar on the right side, but attempting to scroll does nothing (the bars do not move).

I have tried several files. The files load fine on other computers, but not on this one.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like it may be an OpenGL-related (blacklisting) issue. Try the workaround in tdf#96546#c16.

Someone might try to go the “amateur path” I described in this thread.
Interesting for me: Am I the only one this procedure worked for?
