Trying to number page numbers automatically, have done what is in “help” footnotes/endnotes under tools but still does not do it. where am I going wrong? Version 5.
Do you actually want to get page numbers into your document? Looking for footnotes/endnotes is the wrong way in this case. Otherwise please give more details.
You may insert a field displaying the number of the current page or another one counting all the pages of your document via > ‘Insert’ > ‘Field’ anywhere in your document. Often such a field is placed into a header or a footer of the page. Headeer and/or footer can be created via > ‘Format’ > ‘Page’ > ‘Header’ or 'Footer respectively.
