How to discover the correct JRE for base?

I am running libreoffice 5.04.2 on windows 7. I have 2 different versions of JRE installed but base will not accept either. How is it possible to find and install an acceptable JRE?

Install a JDK rather than JRE. Ensure it matches the bits (x86 or x86_64) of the version of LO you have installed.
