MP4 is a container (rather than stream) format. Examine the media file audio / video streams to determine the encoding in use. List of supported default codecs in this answer. You may need to install the required codec.

I found that with mine, (V 5.2.6.2), I just imported it as a mp4. Initially, it shows a big question mark, but I pressed the play button on the bottom left of the screen and it started right up. I'm using it on Windows 10 (ugh), so I don't know if it works differently on a different os. Hope this helps! -Z
