In calc, converting reference to data

how do I convert a cell reference so that the (current) value remains as normal cell data that does not depend on the previously referenced cell?

Copy ctrl+c the cell in question, and paste special ctrl+shift+v without Options []all and []formula

• Before 5.1 Tools▸Cell Contents▸Formula to Value
• Since 5.1 Data▸Calculate▸Formula to Value

Sorry this was introduced with version 4.4.

New versions do not bring that new features and bug fixes. They also include security patches… but you’re maybe not the choice of the version.

This can also be achieved with: F2 (enter Edit Mode) > F9 (Calculate) > Enter (confirms the calculation).
