you need to tell us the real mirror you're downloading from, so we can investigate. LibreOffice is served my more than 80 Mirrors worldwide...

So please have a look in your browser's download details and post the real URL to the file (http://download.documentfoundation.org/... is not the real url - that one just picks a mirror for you). If you encounter a slow mirror, use the "info" link on the downloadpage and choose a different mirror from the list (but still notify us about the slow one)

I have the same problem and it is ridiculous. Hundreds of other programs I have downloaded are not this bad. Must be a problem with the libreoffice site.

You can locate other LibreOffice mirrors at http://download.documentfoundation.or... , or click "manually pick a mirror" on the download page.

I'm using Firefox 12. By right mouse clicking on the item being downloaded in the "Downloads" box, I can choose "Copy link" from the popup menu. Here it is:

This is the third time I started a download and got these kinds of numbers. I cancelled the first two. I just checked, and both of those are identical to the link pasted above. I also verified that selecting some other previous download produced a different link. I really did get layerjet.com all three times. Perhaps everyone is getting layerjet.com and that's why it's slow, it's just overloaded.

Just the same, I let this dl run all night. I am still getting between 8-10 kbps with 30 minutes to go. I have FiOS and have gotten as high as 1600 kbps when downloading.

NOTE TO OTHERS: On the LibreOffice Downloads page, in the big green button, you will see two words; (Torrent, Info). Clicking on Info will enable you to choose a mirror. I'd start there and not choose layerjet.com right now.

Hope this helps.

1/2/2014 and still crazy slow issues with layerjet.com mirrors. The priority of the mirror needs to be changed or something isn't right with the mirror randomness. I seem to get layerjet.com everytime for various ISP at random days/times.

About 12KBps

USA Indiana EDU mirror, 734KBps

There is no randomness. It is all based in your location.

Go to http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/ and then choose the version and platform you want (in this case 4.1.4/win/x86)

Now, click on the details link to the right of LibreOffice_4.1.4_Win_x86.msi

Further down the page you will see a Bold sentence saying

"Found # mirrors which handle this country (XX):" (where XX should US in your case)

Just choose another mirror until you find one that is fast enough ;)

Please let MirrorBrain choose the best mirror for you or choose a mirror which is the nearest to you. I assume you are in the US? mirror6 is located in France (we have 3 different mirror servers serving TDF downloads right now), please use mirror2 or other US mirrors.

@Jeff, I assume you are also in the US right (FiOS)? Please use mirror2 or other US mirrors.

http://mirror.layerjet.com is going at 7kbps! But speedtest.net reports my download bandwidth at 20Mbps.

ibiblio was downloading at 33kbps but resulted in a dmg that my mac couldn't open.

I have this same problem. I've downloaded hundreds of programs and never had this ridiculous situation. Must be a problem with the libreoffice site.
