I don’t know what more I can say. This seems to be coding instructions for formatting. In older systems, there is usually a command, such as “reveal codes” or “suppress codes” to deal with this, but I can’t find one.

It’s hard to understand what you are talking about. I suggest to that you attach a screen shot that shows this.
