I frequently use conditional formatting in spreadsheets to highlight significant data. For example the smallest number in a column.
The formatting I use is a Cell Style. I tend to create a few of them with simple names like BoldRed, DullGrey, BrightGreen, etc.
I recently noticed that every cell that was given DullGrey style had a green background and a thin border. I probably created the style quickly without thinking very hard…
When I go into CellStyle modify it shows the style as:
Name: DullGrey
Linked with: Default
Category: Custom Styles
Contains: Italic+RGB(102, 102, 153)+Centered horizontally+0+RGB(204, 255, 204), Not Transparent+Borders(Black, single, solid), Spacing 0.0cm
I want to simplify this so it just says:
Contains: Italic+RGB(102, 102, 153)
Every time I try to change anything it just adds more that I don’t want to this list!!
My obvious work around was to create a new, simpler style. Then change the conditional formatting on the relevant cells to use the new style.
I could then probably delete the existing style or rename it…
Is there an easy way of removing formats from a style?
