I have searched the web and forums extensively, all existing answers are either A. out of date. or B. non existent.

I have read many places from around 2011-2013 that Libre Draw would be capable of handling VSS files but then the topic sharply drops off. I can't find anywhere it's been asked in the last few years with a relevant and complete answer given.

I've attempted to open multiple CISCO / NetApp / Lenovo VSS stencils in Libre Draw and they all come up as blank. Is there an existing extension or method for handling these files? I have Libre Draw 5 on both a Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 box but no luck in either the Windows or Linux space finding a working fix. Without VSS support I don't understand how any serious Visio user could ever properly adopt Libre Draw.

Thank you!

IT engineers/architects (etc. techies) install software in companies and company directors make the decisions about which products get used. IT engineers help them decide which products will provide the necessary functionality.

If the IT staff can't document their networks using the stencils provided by the major vendors (in a standard format), they will continue to use visio. Chances of getting that company to use part of one office suite and part of another... much slimmer.

If you want business uptake to increase, give the IT engineers the functionality they need and they will rave about your products, directors will enjoy the cost savings etc.

I've also been looking to use Visio stencils, without stencil import support, LibreOffice Draw is much more difficult to use.

The answer is, and always has been, NO.

LibVisio Support for the stencils works in theory, or so i believe, but nothing has been done to use this LibreOffice.

I was able to partially get the contents,

used shell + saxonb on the result from the output produced from libvisio. The tool is a debug tool, so you have to compile to run it.
