Can't Create Chart in Calc

asked 2016-05-21 21:21:25 +0200

If I try to insert a chart ...

  1. If I click on the blank space*, the chart frame will display but the chart will not be displayed.
  2. If I click outside the frame, neither the chart frame nor the chart will be displayed; the blank space will still be displayed.
  3. If I click inside the frame but not on the blank space, I will just be clicking into one of the cells as if the frame weren't even there; the blank space will still be displayed.

This occurs whether I click the "Insert Chart" icon or go to Insert > Chart; this also occurs whether I highlight the relevant columns beforehand or enter the columns manually afterward.

*This space only appears when I make a chart; it is not intentional. I don't know why it appears; it's never done this before as far as I can remember.
