How do I change my default endnote font (both the endnote number that appears on the "Endnotes" page, as well as the text of the note itself?

I’ve used LibreOffice for a couple of years, but have been unable to solve this basic problem. I’ve been through help pages and Youtube vids, but can’t get the default endnote font to write in anything but 10 pt. I’d like 12 pt. Thanks for any help.

Footnotes formatting is controlled by 3 styles:

  • Note text appearance can be customised through paragraph style Footnote from which you can set font properties, margins, justification, …
  • Note number can be adapted through character style Footnote Characters for font properties and position.
  • Note anchor (note marker in main body text) can also be adapted through character style Footnote Anchor for font properties and position.

Similar styles exist for endnotes where Footnote is replaced by Endnote in the style names.

Style definition are accessed through menu FormatStyles and Formatting or F11.

EDIT 2016-10-05:

The above styles only control the visual properties of wht is generated by LO. To request a different type of automatic anchor (number, letter in various alphabets, …), change the settings in ToolsFootnotes/Endnotes....

There are lots of parameters to fit personal needs.

Hello, ajilitoz !
It does not work for me. I tried Menu: Styles > Styles and formatting , then under Character style, either Footnote Character or Footnote Anchor and it does not allow me to change either the Footnote Anchor or any style by clicking on the Edit Style button of the first tab (“Organizer”). I am trying to :

  • change my footnote anchors from 1, 2, 3 to i, ii, ii
  • change my endnote anchors from i, ii, ii to 1, 2, 3 …
I am stumped. How do you do this ? Thanks.
