Is there support for Corel Draw 4 Clipart (.cdr) in LibreOffice?

I have a small library of Corel Draw 4 clipart that I can no longer access since upgrading to a 64 bit operating system. I had hoped that Libre Office Draw would solve that problem but it does not seem to want to open any of these files. The files have a cdr file extension and always opened easily with the old Corel software. Now I’m afraid all are lost if I can’t find a way to open them.

Libre Office Draw returns this error: "General Error. General input/output error." every time I try to open the files on the CD (File - Open - CD path - filename.cdr). I tried to insert the files as well but there was no option to insert a cdr. Please help.

You can try to search for “convert corel draw file” in the web.

another possibility could be http://www.xnview.com/en/index.html and try the file converter

Thanks for the ideas but I’ve already done the “convert corel draw file” search which led me to LibreOffice and their new LibCDR which is supposed to be capable of reading and opening all cdr files back to version 1. Unfortunately for me, this is not the case. As for xnview - cdr file formats are not listed as supported.

Hi @akashaz, Please file a bug about this problem in the bugtracker. Please indicate if you think that this particular .cdr support should be considered an enhancement or a bug.

I think the uniconvertor http://sourceforge.net/projects/uniconvertor/ is the tool your may want to try.
