CWK filters

I keep seeing support questions about filters for converting documents but I can’t find anywhere in the app how I would implement these filters. I downloaded one of the files listed in a previous question and when I tried opening it, it just opened as a document listing other apps.

I’m trying to retrieve some old CWK files and I’m not sure whether they are word processor or image files… etc.

How do I use a filter in LibreOffice 5?

normally, you just need to launch LibreOffice, then ask to “Open a file…”, select your file and click Open.
