Spellcheck error, every single word gets highlighted red for some reason

Hello everyone.

So I opened LibreOffice today in order to edit a writer document I was working on for the latest chapter of a story I’m currently writing. When I opened the document, I was met with a error I’ve never seen before: literally every single word on the document was highlighted red as if they were all wrong, which they weren’t. This has never actually happened before, so it’s weird for this kind of error to just randomely occur. The error shows up in every single writer document I have on my computer, regardless if they were created before that particular document where I initially encountered the error. Note that I’ve also tested to see if the problem shows up on Impress Presentations; it does.

I tried right clicking any random word to see what kind of suggestions come up. Most of the time, there are no suggestions at all, which is puzzling. When some suggestions actually do show up, they don’t make any sense. For example, if I type in the word “when” and right click on it after it gets highlighted red, the only two suggestions that come up every time are “The” and “Xen”. “Xen” isn’t even an English word and “The” wouldn’t make sense in most of the sentences that I’m trying to apply the word “When” to. As I said before, the suggestions make no sense. Also, no, before anyone asks, my spellcheck langauge isn’t set to Chinese or some other asian language, it’s set to USA English.

Could LibreOffice be corrupted on my computer? Will a simple reinstall be all that I need to do?

Thanks in advance for any help that may come for this odd dilemma I’ve found myself in.

It may be the dictionary is corrupted. I think reinstalling the language pack would solve that, or a reinstall. Do words in your personal dictionary flag also? At tools/options/paths you can find where the personal dictionary is, and you can make sure it’s enabled at spellcheck (F7)/options.
