Click File>Save as
For Excel: select Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP/2003 (.xls)(*.xls)
For Word: select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc)(*.doc)
For PowerPoint: select Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt)(*.ppt)

ok, a window appears that asks me to save either in current or odf format. I enter current, and a window comes up that says 'the document has one or more passwords that cannot be exported....I notice there is an option to remove the password. Is this safe? Will I lose any data or function?
