LibreOffice not autosaving documents

Hello,
LibreOffice says the the backup path is ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/backup in ‘Tools → Options’. I have setup auto-save for every 5 minutes. However, I don’t see any files being saved there. Where exactly can I find the auto-saved files?

Hi

There are two mechanisms: the user’s backups (in the backup folder) and program’s backup used by LibreOffice for recovery in case of crash. See this FAQ for details.

The user’s backups are are not enabled by ToolsOptionsLoad /SaveGeneralSave AutoRecovery information but Always create backup copy.

Regards

LibreOffice doesn’t have a functioning Autosave, even though it appears it does if you use the program. See this thread: WHY NOT AUTOSAVE?
But they aren’t even up front with users about this.

Yes, LibreOffice has.

See: Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Advanced … Expert Configuration … search for AutoSave.

It’s there already in 5.0, maybe earlier.
