In shortcut settings, F1 is grayed out. It looks like it can't be reassigned. Is there any way to reassign it to another function?

The key F1 is used as a shortcut to Help so I guess that is why it cant be reassigned.

It's a sensible reason, but I keep hitting it by mistake thinking I'm using Inkscape, then a web browser pops up and covers everything.

There are a number of free tools that will allow you to disregard the keyboard key when that app is active. I can think of Autohotkey for Windows. There should be similar tools for Mac and Linux.

Interesting I hadn't considered that. I will look into it.
