First off, I find this to be an excellent application suite.

I'm using : Version: 5.1.5.1 Build ID: 1:5.1.5~rc1-1 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.6; UI Render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

I'm running XFCE4 desktop on Linux version 4.6.0-1-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 5.4.0 20160609 (Debian 5.4.0-6) ) #1 SMP Debian 4.6.3-1 (2016-07-04)

The "save as" dialog/target window is EXTREMELY slow to populate and save- just a regular save is fine, especially spreadsheets (my main use). I'm using PCManFM 1.2.4 as my default file browser. That interface is not what I see during "save as" functions in LibreOffice.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

This isn't an answer: I have the same problem. I am using the LO dialogs, instead of Windows' because exporting to PDF automatically places the PDF in the same directory as the ODF document. Windows' dialog doesn't.

But the LO dialog is slow to appear (about 4 seconds), and as I type the filename, the typed characters don't appear until several seconds later.
