I have a sheet that adds data from numerous cells on several different sheets. Recently I had a #value error and had to go sheet by sheet and cell by cell to find the error (a seemingly empty cell that actually contained a space). Tools/Detective/Trace Errors seemingly doesn’t work across multiple sheets. Any hints? Between home and office I’m working with L.O. 3.5.4.2 Linux, 3.5.6 Win7, and 3.6.3 Win XP.

I’m not familiar with the ‘Trace Errors’ feature, but if you think that it should work across sheets, please file a bug.
Actually, please first test against the latest release, and if that doesn’t seem to fix this problem, then please file a bug 
Please provide a list of steps that can reproduce your problem. The QA team will be happy to help you track down this issue!

@Edward3 - You touched a very interesting topic: The Detective doesn’t work across sheets even if they are in the same book.
tI would be very good if you file an enhancement request which adds a functionality across sheets, and maybe even across books. To the best of my knowledge this would be a feature MS Excel does not have.
But first follow qubit’s advice and get rid of your problem.
