LibreOffice Freezes When Opening a File

Hello; I have a file (9 MB) that was working fine in Writer until recently. Writer will open the file, but then after 3-4 seconds I will get the spinning wheel of death (Mac, LibreOffice Version 5.1.5). I tried renaming the file and tried opening it on a Windows Machine, neither worked. Finally, I tried opening it on OpenOffice and surprisingly it worked. I am going to keep working on it with OpenOffice (I tried saving again and opening with Libre but it still won't open) until the problem is solved but I hate the look of OO so hopefully I can get this problem fixed, Sheldon

Where do you allocate more memory to libreoffice in windows 7? Kind of bad that it doesnt see for itself how much memory it needs.

Maybe you have many images in the file, and more memory allocated for images in OO than in LibO? Try to allocate more memory if that's the case. Maybe you should also include the images as links, I'm not sure if that will speed LibO up, but it's a lot safer.

Thanks! I did not know of the memory option. I increased values and everything is working fine, thanks so much Sheldon
