How to Set the LibreOffice Background Color

Currently using Ubuntu 16.04 with LibreOffice 5.2. On one computer; when using Writer, the area that is outside the page area, such as the tool bars is gray. On my other computer, the area outside the page area (including the icon background) is essentially “white” meaning that there is no contrast between the page area and the area outside of the page.

In theory, both displays should be the same. Why they aren’t is a mystery.

How can the viewable area outside of the “page” be changed to a light gray background?

Under Tools, Options, LibreOffice, Application Colours you can change some of the colours within LibreOffice. Try Application Background for the area outside the page area. I don’t see an option to change the tool bars.

Is it possible the contrast or brightness of one of your displays has different settings?

Edit:
On windows the colour scheme set using Control Panel, Personalisation can change the colours of toolbar, frame etc. I assume there is a similar personalisation possible under ubuntu.

Well, 50% success. The area outside of the page does have a new background from “Application Background”. However, that did not affect the background color of he tool-bars.

Didn’t make much progress on how to change the toolbar background color. However, I did run across this dated post that added some new toolbar themes. How can I make LibreOffice look better?. The high-contrast toolbar theme was helpful.
