Why is Auto Correct not on the Format menu anymore?

I have just upgraded and now I can’t use auto correct to remove unwanted paragraph marks because it no longer appears on the format menu - though it’s still on the tools menu. Where is it please?

‘Autocorrect’ actually is a tool, not a task of formatting. It is placed under the ‘Tools’ menu. If I remember correctly, the allocation of ‘Autocorrect Options…’ was under ‘Tools’ for a long time now. The additional related menu item under ‘Format’ was abandoned with V5.0.

You are correct - ‘Apply’ in the Autocorrect function in Tools does the job. Obvious when you know it. Unfortunately the help file still gives the instruction to use it from the Format menu, which is why I expected it there.

(1.) You are right. Even the (faster updated) offline help is containing the error. However, I doubt if a bug report about this will help much. You may try it here.

(2.) You can add a comment to any question or answer, and do not need to post comments in disguise.

(3.) Posting “wiki posts” here is rarely advisable. Users with much “karma” can edit your posts anyway.

I noticed a weird deal with 5.1.5.2 for Windows.

An install on one machine showed AutoCorrect under both Format and Tools, but on another machine it showed AutoCorrect only under Tools.

This afternoon I downloaded the installation file for 5.1.6.2 and used it to update LibreOffice on both machines in question. The weirdness continues. What’s with that?

Both machines are running Win7Pro, though one is 32-bit and other is 64-bit. That surely doesn’t make the difference, does it?
