Labels with incremental numbers

i need to print labels with nothing more then an incremental number on it from 1 to 1499
how can i do this automatically so without having to type the numbers.

does anybody have any idea how i can do this?
any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi

You can use the Mail Merge technique. See my answer in this post.

You have to adapt:

  • numbers (Fill Cells is in Sheet menu since 5.2)
  • create synchronized labels: insert the SN field in the first label
  • Insert▸Field▸More fields▸Database tab▸Next Record at the end of the first label then click Synchronize Labels button

thanks for your answer… i will need to try this out somewhere after coming wednesday but seems to be exactly what i need. if any questions i will come back on this

apparently i have still 5.1, so i mainly looked at your previous post. but i’m doing something wrong.
at the end. (always so much more frustrating)
I made the spreadsheet
i opened a page with labels
i added the database spreadsheet.
tried to add the in the header, or the first field or all fields or the page’s header but i can’t seem to get it to fill up with the numbers.

made a screenshot of it but i don’t seem to be able to post it here. :frowning:

As I said you have to adapt: in your case, you have to insert the field in the first label, not in the header.

i understand, but wasn’t sure as you mention 5.2 and i only have 5.1 (ubuntu)
i also tried the help on synchronized labels but on the tutorial i got hung up on section 4.

  1. On the Options tab page, make sure that the Synchronize contents box is selected. (done) If this is selected, a label only has to be entered (on the top left label) and edited once. (this part i don’t get and where i gets wrong. )

under distribute in the options tab: entire page (or single label, but i believe not)

but then there is the comment:“a label only has to be entered (on the top left label) and edited once”.

when i synchronize i get an entire page full with “, enter, a space”. which i believe to be correct.

but how do i “enter a label” and how do i “edit” it? i do get the idea of the synchronize labels button, but i just cant get the right synchronization out of it.

i kinda got it sorted via mail merge wizard. not ideally but good enough.
