Calc - Way to set default Border outline width thickness?

Hello Everyone,

I mentioned some ideas for border tools in another post of mine, but in the mean time, does anyone know of a way to set a default border outline thickness. So say you want to set any cells you want to add a border to, to a width of 2.00 pt.
This way every time you create an outline it automatically is set to 2.00 pt. With the ability of having this setting always be set even for new spreadsheets.

Thank You

Make a blank Calc file with the formatting settings that you want, then save it as your default template (File - Templates - Save as template, tick Set as Default template).

I would use styles. You create a cell style with the thickness of the desired edge. Every time you apply that style to the cells you set the correct edge.
If you then want to make the default for all your files, you create a template as you have indicated in the Floris answer.

This doesn’t seem to work if you want one border encompassing multiple cells or different cells have borders on different sides, of different colours etc. Because a cell style defines the line arrangement, border colour and border thickness all together.
