why does Libreoffice always start with document recovery windows 7 restarts

Windows 7. Problem has been getting increasing worse. Just now I tried to open a document from the regular icon on my desktop, it will not open at all. Topically, after working on a spreadsheet, I save and close. Next time I open the spreadsheet :LibreOffice needs to recover the document(s). If the computer sleeps while I am working on something (because I have been away for awhile, LibreOffice wants to recover anything that was open. Sometimes it can’t even recover a doc but goes and gets the original doc.

As far as I know, I have the lasted version.

I find that Libre 5.2 is somewhat unstable, it often crashes on opening a file, and it might just crash when you wake up your pc. As happened to me right now. I’d not leave any files open in Libre when you send your computer to sleep. Better save and close first.

In Windows Control Panel, go to folder options. Enable “show hidden files”. Click Ok.

Now, with LO closed, go to the folders containing your documents and look for files such as ".locked ", and delete them.

Try to open your files again.
