How do I make an image border into a plain and solid colored rectangle without the corner white dots or other automatic formatting?

I can’t find any options to remove (or change the color of) the white dots that appear at the edges of image borders. Also if the image border is set to smaller than around 5.0 pt then a white line also appears along the edges without any shadow option checked. I don’t think that Open Office ever did this, there must be a way to change it? I just want a solid black rectangular border around my images, preferably without having to draw each one! I’m using version 5.1.4.2. The exact options are: Set All Four Borders/5.0 pt/No Shadow/Plain line/0 spacing to contents. This might not be a problem on a white page but the images are on a colored background.

Thanks,

Sage

Seems to be the same problem reported here:

Bug 81643 - Borders are drawn as rectangles and so they are not joined well at the corners

No solution, so far.

Bummer. Thanks for the info. I just wonder if it only affects certain computers? Or has this been going on for 2 years for everyone?

It has been going on for 2 years for everyone :frowning:

Woah, it must be a difficult coding problem? There was a fix posted in that link you gave me, or was that just a suggested coding fix? I don’t know how to alter the code though…

It’s sort of strange because the borders using rectangle objects work great. I’m trying to figure out how to insert properly sized images into rectangle objects and just use those instead.
