Cannot Start Libre Office 5.2 on Windows 10

Hello,
I cannot start libre office - every attempt results in the error message:

The program cannot be started.
A general error occurred while accessing your central configuration.
(“component context fails to supply service
com.sun.star.configuration.ReadWriteAccess of type
com.sun.star.configuration.XReadWriteAccess”)

I have tried both from shortcuts and directly on the soffice app file
I have a fresh install of libre office.

Thanks.

Cannot get Libre to generate a new user profile - there is certainly not one where it should be!

Reset your user profile. See Frequently asked questions - General - The Document Foundation Wiki - important: rename the folder, don’t delete it. If that doesn’t fix it, run the install file again and choose Repair install when that option is offered.

EDIT: Duh, I found this link: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Fatal-error-trying-to-open-new-build-td4193866.html about the same problem, then it hit me: you never said what operating system and what kind of computer you are running this on, or what version of Libre - a developer build perhaps?

If this answer helped you, please vote it with :heavy_check_mark: (here on the left). That will help other people with the same question.

I don’t have a user profile - at least not where it should be!
Repair install didn’t work either :frowning:

I think this issue may be caused by a recent Windows update - probably KB 3176936 - which I cannot install!

Well the clue to the OS and Libre version is in the post title!
I’m not using any strange developer builds - just the normal version.
And I should have said uninstall the update

I can still open it after a new Windows update.

This required a reinstall of Windows 10 for Libre Office to work properly.
