(Calc) How to turn off autocorrect?

I’m trying to input bible verses into Calc, but it changes 4:7 to 04:07:00 AM. How do i stop this?

Autocorrect generally doesn’t annoy me, but LO autocorrect does.

Easiest way is to enter as '4:7, where the ’ will be invisible in the cell but force the numbers to be treated as text with no autoformat.

the apostrophe still appears?

It will be seen when the cell content is being edited, but not visible when you view or print the worksheet.

Oh I discovered that I was putting the apostrophe in the actual cell, in actually belongs in the bar above (next to sum/function). Thanks for your help :]

I think its because you already had the cell format set to text. In that case you can just enter 4:7. Format of cells normally defaults to Number and then tries to auto select format based on what you type in the cell. Sometimes the auto format selection can be a problem.

I’ve been slowly moving all my documents from Evernote to LibreOffice, and have to paste via HTML format… maybe that’s why. How do you change the cell format? Are there multiple ways to do it?

Select the range of cells and then either right click and select “Format Cells…” or from the top of page menu select “Format”, “Cells”. Setting the format after you already pasted the data doesn’t always change the format correctly.
