BASE SQL SIMPLE DELETE QUERY FAILS

THIS QUERY WORKS SELECT "flddata" FROM "tbldata" WHERE ( "flddata" LIKE '%stars%' OR "flddata" LIKE '%/%/%' )


THIS QUERY DELETE FROM "tbldata" WHERE ( "flddata" LIKE '%stars%' OR "flddata" LIKE '%/%/%' )

RETURNS THE ERROR "The given command is net a SELECT statement. Only queries are allowed. DELETE FROM "tbldata" WHERE ( "flddata" LIKE '%stars%' OR "flddata" LIKE '%/%/%' ) "

I imagine you are doing this from a Query window. Only Select statements are allowed there. Other statements can be performed under the menu item Tools->SQL... form the opening Base screen.
