Template not appearing on every page

OK, Its’ me, but I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong.

I need to produce a document with the same base design on every page, a horizontal line top and bottom, with a square at one end and a word at the other, and a page number … page centre and bottom … it’s landscape A5 by the way

I am using Libre office 5 and Mint

I have created a template and cut and pasted the document into it … the design only appears on the first page???

That’s obvious but who knows: have you put your repeating decorations in header/footer?

Hello

      page style is default ...... putting drawing objects, lines, rectangles, text boxes into the header does not appear to work ...

Perhaps this is a problem of terminology …

What I need to do have my design appear in every page of the document … Is that what templates do?

Page style is a list of page size, margins, fonts, etc but no actual objects on the page???

in other words am I in the right place???

OK thanks seems like putting it in the header works, it was the first thing I tried and it didn’t’ work because I was trying to draw inside the header… seems like you have to create the lines, boxes outside the header and cut and paste them in … I know a lot of people swear by libre office at the moment I’m swearing at it

A document based on a template will have all the styles that are in the template such as fonts, page size, margins etc. If you have created a template for your document containing horizontal lines, text etc on one page then a document based on this template will only contain these fixed objects on the first page as any additional pages created will have the default page style which will not contain these objects.

You need to create a custom page style containing these objects for them to be on new pages.

thanks, exactly the answer I was looking for,as you can see from my comments above I have found a work around will try and figure how to make custom page styles when this project is done and dusted
