How can I delete multiple images in a tables' cells?

I have a table with multiple rows and columns and each cell has an image in it. I want to clear the images and keep the table. I have tried:

  1. Select table/delete/backspace/cut --nothing happens.

What works with my plaform (5.2 & windows7):

  • Copy the table
  • Paste Special▸Formatted Text [RTF] below (or above). You keep text, attributes, styles…
  • Delete the first table
