LO Locks Files in NVIDIA GLCache

LO (V5.1.6.2 on Win10) is locking part of a strangely named file (sometimes two such files) located in a subfolder of

C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\NVIDIA\GLCache

Both files names are long identical strings of numbers with .bin and .toc as the extensions.

I only know this because AVAST reports that it can not scan the files because some process has locked part of them.

I know how to make AVAST ignore these files but I find it very weird (or maybe just interesting) that LO is doing this.

I experimented by closing out LO and seeing that AVAST is happy to scan the files.

Any hints about what is going on here?

Maybe disabling the use of OpenGL, Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View.

That does it. I don’t know why I’d need OpenGL so I’ll run without it to see if I care.

I copy my comment to an answer.

m.a.riosv gave the correct answer in a comment above. Not sure if this is OK but I’m going to mark this question as answered.

The situation is that LibreOffice is locking these files when OpenGL is being used. Optionally, use of OpenGL can be turned off as stated in m.a.riosv’s comment.

EDIT: I can’t accept my own answer until I have 20 points, whatever those are. So, moving on…

Maybe disabling the use of OpenGL, Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View.
