Events on controls linked to table fields?

I am just dipping a toe into the water, thinking to transfer my years of VBA knowledge into Base.

Looking at the TT NorthWind.odb Categories form I was unable to find any way to associate an event with a control tied to a database field - for example the CategoryName control. All other controls I add have the constellation of events I expect, but not those linked controls. I notice the control properties dialog identifies each one as “Multiselection” and not as the name of the table field it is linked to.

Is this designed behaviour, or am I missing something?

Problem occurs because they are grouped fields: the text box and label. Instead of clicking on the text box to select it, use Ctrl+Click.

Another way, display the Form Design toolbar and use Form Navigator to select.
