Hi all,

When I run 'TexMaths equations' and I type an equation, say u=0, and then click on 'Latex', LibreOffice will display the following message:

"No file created in the directory: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\TexMaths\tmp\"

and will not create the equation at all. Anyone knows what is wrong with this?

I am running LibreOffice and TexMaths 0.42. I also tried with the older LibreOffice but run into the same problem. Win 10 64 bit.

Any suggestions on how to make this work?

Maybe you won't find very many users of TexMaths (which is an extension to LibO not directly supported by the TDF) reading this site and contributing here.
Did you already look for help one of the ways offered here?

Yes, but found nothing there. This is :(, as we have discussed before, there are no really good alternatives for equations. LO Math is awkward and outdated. Dmath is not free anymore (at least as in beer). TexMaths doesn't even work on Windows as far as I know. Too bad...

I found an alternative to LO Writer, Lyx (https://www.lyx.org/). This program can produce stunning looking documents that LO Writer can only dream of. However, the problem is the workflow is quite different from a regular word processsor and also requires good knowledge of Tex. But anyway, just passing on the word! :)

"LO Math is awkward and outdated."
This may apply to the editor and to the rendering. The persistent format is, however, MathML which is not outdated at all. Concerning the editor and the rendering I would refuse to give up hope. With respect to the "ugly-brackets-issue" there was a faint move of the pickup-sticks recently in the bugiversum.
