I have a hanging indent paragraph style like this:

FX: SOUND EFFECTS.
                                REST OF PARAGRAPH...

I want 'FX:' and 'SOUND EFFECTS' and the rest of the paragraph to be underlined, but not the tab between them. Is this possible using a paragraph style? Because when I hit tab after 'FX:' the tab is underlined.

I think there is no way using a paragraph style: properties apply to the paragaph.

My advise would be to use a no border table instead of tabulations.

As workaround you can use Find & Replace to delete underline only for tabulations.

Edit▸Find & Replace

Find: \t

Other options:

  • Tick Regular expressions
  • Keep cursor in Find zone, Click FormatFont EffectsUnderlining select Single
  • Tick Including Styles

Replace: \t

  • Keep cursor in Replace zone, Click FormatFont EffectsUnderlining select Without

Replace All
