How can I equate a "single" cell in a spreadsheet to a specific "single" cell in a different spreadsheet file?

I use LibreOffice Calc for my budget. I would like to equate certain cells in the new year spreadsheet to cells in the previous year spreadsheet file. How do I define the new year cell?
